A high tech hub that is nicknamed ‘Silicone Prairie’, Callas boasts plenty of Fortune 500 companies and other very prosperous financial businesses that make it a fabulous financial hub. It’s also known for its creative side – in fact, the Dallas Art District is the biggest in the country. And then there are parks, endless night-time action, shopping… Dallas has it all, in spades.

Best time to visit: Come in the in-between seasons, spring, or fall, when the weather is at its most moderate. 

Best Area for Sightseeing: Deeley Plaza The site of the President John F Kennedy’s assassination in 1963 is the most visited in the city. You’ll also find other historic attractions in the surroundings, such as the Dallas Heritage Villas, several historic churches that predate the Civil War and a stunning 19th century cathedral.

Shopping in Dallas: Dallas offers every possible item, from Cowboy boots to designer fashion, and everything in between. The city boasts more malls than any other in the US, evident in entire districts dedicated to shopping, such as Highland Park Village and NorthPark Center. You’ll also find farmer’s markets and eclectic stores around the city. West Village is worth exploring for a day if you’re in the mood for shopping, a haven for retail therapy with plenty of spots to enjoy a snack or meal as you scour the shops.

Food & Restaurants in Dallas: In keeping with Dallas’ wide selection of offerings in every sphere, the restaurants don’t disappoint. You’ll find every type of eaterie here to enjoy a variety of cuisines. The stunning Central Market is a treasure trove of fresh produce and includes all sorts of take-outs and dinners to-go. Dallas Farmer’s Market offers specialty products and fresh home-grown produce, deli items and flowers.

Nightlife: As with every Dallas offering, night-time options are endless and exciting. Enjoy everything from dance halls and vibrant clubs to craft beer halls and cosy pubs.

Best way to get around: The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is an excellent way to explore the city. Otherwise, rent a car, or take an Uber.

Best Area for Families: Uptown This chic, upmarket residential neighborhood offers excellent accommodation, trendy stores and stunning restaurants as well as leafy parks. It also offers easy access to downtown Dallas for exploring.
